Who We Are
The Founders
Dr Paul and Yvonne Tienda married over thirty-five years ago in Pueblo, CO, where they were born and raised. They share a passion for education, health, community development and service to others. The Tienda Foundation has been established to help further their vision of developing students info effective leaders and professionals that can help build safer, healthier and more sustainable communities.
Our Mission And Commitment
Our primary mission is to help build safer, healthier and more sustainable communities by investing in apprenticeship, higher education and community development programs. We provide educational/apprenticeship program grants and needs-based stipends to high school juniors and seniors in Colorado.
Our goal is to inspire and empower public school students to enroll in apprenticeship programs and to graduate from institutions of higher education. Ensuring that students are being provided the tools, hands-on experience, mentors and financial resources essential to their success is very important to us.
Additionally, students need to be given the opportunity to acquire and apply innovative leadership skills to "real world problems". Practical experience will maximize their career opportunities and help them to lead the next generation in being proactive agents of transformative and positive change in their communities.
Our Vision And Values
Our Vision for every student is a life empowered by job training, education, purpose and transformative leadership.
Our Aspiration for Pueblo and Colorado is for students to flourish and have the will and the skillsets needed to lead, innovate and contribute to safer, healthier and more sustainable communities.
The Values we strive to uphold:
* to be people of integrity,
* to develop and maintain strong relationships
* to be innovative, continually working towards improvement,
* to give every public school student the opportunity to earn a degree,
* to increase college enrollment and graduation rates,
* to prepare student leaders to contribute to our communities,
* to measure our effectiveness and to be fully committed,
* to be accountable until our goals are achieved
